Canada - When David Thomas needed pocket money while locked up or help finding a job when he wasn't, he turned to a trusted friend made through his former ties to the Rock Machine biker gang.

But that trust has now cost Thomas dearly after his well-connected gang chum wound up being a police snitch paid to set him up in a gun-trafficking deal.

Thomas is now back behind bars serving a six-year prison term after pleading guilty to weapons-trafficking and breaching a lifetime weapons ban in front of Provincial court Judge Kelly Moar.

The former Rock Machine associate was the last of 13 suspects recently arrested in Project Deplete/Drain, a lengthy covert police probe targeting organized gun and drug running in Manitoba.

Police arranged to pay a well-connected former Rock Machine member more than $500,000 and a weekly stipend for his work infiltrating the gang, its associates and others as part of the project.

Cops say the investigation netted about $1-million in drug seizures.

Thomas admitted he made a deal in early February to loan the informant a loaded Glock 9-mm semiautomatic pisto...

They always have. I'm sure you may recall the Henry Sounty Sheriffs bust when they were busted for drugs and protitution. 21 Sheriffs and deputies went down. By the way my house never got broke into again after they went to jail.
