But it's also a registered trademark, owned and so closely guarded by the Royal Canadian Legion that a motorcycle club of veterans isn't allowed to include a small one in its own logo without lawyers threatening legal action. Capt. Michael Blow, president of the Canadian Veteran Freedom Riders (CVFR), who devoted 35 years of his life to the military, has one in his club's crest. It's a little difficult to see, but it's there.

I don't know how the Legion operates in Canada, but reading the remarks with the article it sounds similar to the one in the states. As long as someone in your family, within 2 steps (Grandpa) was in the military you can become a member. I don't fuck with the legion, I have as little to do with them as possible
It is becoming a real issue with vets,, they feel they can do what ever they like because they did some service work, well dummy you were paid in dollars, you were kept. so get real and drop the poppy. dont fuck with the legion you self centered ego mainiac.
