Santa Maria, CA - Rainy weather threatened the Santa Maria Valley Bike Run for the first time in the toy fundraiser's eight-year history, but motorcyclists dutifully showed up in droves to support the cause anyway. Tough-looking riders wearing black leather jackets, boots, sunglasses and helmets drove up to the Santa Maria Elks Lodge on Saturday morning to drop off dolls, Pillow Pets, games and other toys during the eighth annual event, which benefits the Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots campaign.
