Clunking when rolling forward ?????

I have recently replaced the front belt pulley on my Ultra, with new primary housing, bearings and seals. It's been fine up until now.
The bike's been sitting outside for a few days, and during that time it's been cold.
In the upper 20's. Now it makes a clunking noise when rolling forward. It sounds like it does it when the rear wheel reaches a certain point.
Any suggestions ?

- If it does it only when the rear wheel reaches a certain point - that rules out everything you've done forward of the rear wheel, including the belt.
Your best bet is to try and reproduce the "clunk" while you have the bike on a stand and the rear wheel free to rotate. Rotate the wheel and see if it reproduces the once-every-rotation noise. If it does, then check the rear wheel pulley for a blemish in the sprocket teeth; the belt's alignment with the new sprocket, and the disc brake rotor for a high spot. If it doesn't make the noise with the wheel supported...then it may be in the rear wheel bearing. Double check the torque value on the rear axle nut. Try it with the axle nut loose, then at its proper torque value. Overtightening it can produce bearing skip and binding, like you describe. If you find nothing suspicious then clean the rear pulley teeth with a toothbrush and warm, soapy water, then rinse. When the pulley and the belt are dry from moisture, use some spray-on belt dressing sparingly then remove the bike from the stand and see if the "clunk" remains. If it does, take the bike back to those that did the work for you and explain your problem. Eyes on the problem are far better than any internet dignosis. Good luck!
