Had a special request from a long time BNN member and highly respectible 1%er. Some time on or around November 30, 2007, a girl names Carla Anne Beard was murdered in Anna Marie Island, FL.
Carla Ann Beard was found at the end of 50th St. in Holmes Beach just a few blocks north of the Manatee County Public Beach. It had been there for a few days. A $5000 reward has been offered by the Gold Star Club for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible. Contact here

What's your question? Opinion or advice, lookin for both. I want to take out the chains and install gears for the cams. Not lookin to boost power, I mean if it does great but, just lookin to get rid of the chains and tensioners. My question is which is best, SS or Andrews or a

  1. I liked andrews.Make sure ya go with adjustable pushrods so you dont have to pull the top end.Make sure ya also cut the pushrods with a bolt cutter not a grinding wheel or saw.the metal shavings will fuck ya later.Good luck.just my advice.done them on a couple twinkies. 2. Thanks. That breaks into my pushrod question though. How often do they need adjusted ? Have a couple of friends that are constantly having problems with the adjustables but not sure of their maintenance habits however. By: madmidget on: 3-2-2008

  3. when I do oil changes I check them to make sure in adjustment and I tell people to always carry a 1/2 and a 7/16 wrench just in case. They are easy to keep adjusted.Just make sure you put the smaller pushrod on the intake side.thats very important to do.it will tell ya when ya get them but I remind the clients about it constantly. 4. you are also going to have to get some specialty tools.Like evo tappet block alignment tools.you need them to line up oil pump. Also the sprocket locking tool so you dont strip out crank shaft bolt.and of course the Spring tensioner tool to remove them.If your keeping your stock cam plate flush it out internally.I usualy find some sludge and shit in the check ball and there could be aluminum dust in there also.Just a little advice take it or leave it.Good luck. 5. Oh shit also, they sell a new check ball spring. It increases oil flow and pressure of course.I buy the ones from fueling co.Some times others have them but I use them only. Also mark your lifters dont want to confuse them and have a miss match on your cams.wear pattern is important. Also with andrews you have to do a little grinding out the case and cover.you can use a dremil tool for this with a grinding wheel on it.just make sure ya get out all the grindings.good luck.If I remeber any more I am sure I will put it on here for you.I can answer most of ya questions but its always good to have a manual by your side to look at.torque sequence is very important with the twin cam engine! 6. Thanks again. A lot of info and it is appreciated. By: madmidget on: 3-3-2008

  7. I'm so fuckin confused my head is swimmin!!! Jesus fuckin christ!!! All I wanna do is get rid of the chains and tensioners. TW21, 37G, upgrade to 95 ci, this, that, the other thing. I'm asking (begging) for straight up advice which way to go on this. This isn't meant nor aimed at anyone that's given advice already, seriously it's greatly appreciated. Just aggravated as hell cuz I figured it was a simple fuckin project that I could be take care of myself with a little advice from others. And the more shit I look up the more confused I get. Anyway this is probably more of a rant than anything else so laugh away and tell me to take it somewhere else, WTF!!! By: madmidget on: 3-4-2008

  8. OK then no ya cant do it in ya garage.Ya need a press and its not simple like a evo.So probably cant do it by your self.Is that simple enough for ya.was just trying to steer ya in the right direction.so ya new what ya were up against.wont reply to ya again By: dirtyundies on: 3-5-2008

  9. MM: My tensioners took a shit at around 40K, which isn't as bad as some horror stories I've heard. Anyway, I went with the S&S gear drive and adj pushrods. I also replaced the lifters (due) and replaced the stock oil pump with a Fueling brand pump. All of this on the advice of my brother who owns a shop. I'm just a "garage tinkerer" as 47KD put it, so he did the work. Also, mine was already 95 cu, so I swapped the 203 HD cams for the 510s from S&S. About 30K later, no problems (knock on wood), the bike picked up a few ponies, and no more wories about the POS tensioners. Good luck. By: Beaver on: 3-6-2008
