| What's your question? |
I broke a fin from the engin head, is there a way to fix it? And is there an easy way to prep and clean the engin fins before I paint it?

| Details: |
I broke a small piece of a fin on the front cylinder head next to the top front push rod cover. |
Answers:
- Any welding shop worth its salt can MIG or ARC weld the (iron) fin back on. Depending on how hard it is to get to the break line... will mean how much you'll have to cough up for the weld. As to cleaning the heads (and barrels) for paint... I'd have them (bead) blasted and use some VHT rattle-can from any auto parts store.
As an aside; next time you want to take the heads off the barrels...hit the rocker boxes with a large rubber hammer...not the fins! By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 4-18-2008
