| What's your question? |
Front end vibration at speeds over 65mph
|
| Details: |
at speeds over 60 mph front end vibrates enough to rattle gas caps. I have put new tank rubbers in (well needed) but still have vibration. |
Answers:
- Check the balance on your front tire, neck bearings, wheel bearings, fork bushings, last suggestion, by a dresser turn the radio up. By: Mark_Goff on: 3-14-2007
- forgot and KD will get all over my ass, upper motor mount. By: Mark_Goff on: 3-14-2007
- Get out on the freeway; take the bike up tp about 70MPH (watching there is no one behind you for about 100 yards) then let off the throttle and pull in the clutch lever at the same time. If the vibration goes away...it's in your engine/drivetrain. If it doesn't, then like Mark suggests, you'll have to check out all the spec's on your front end.
A question: Did you just buy this bike? By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 3-14-2007
- Thanks for the advice guys. First I'm going to check the motor mounts and then I'll take to the high way to check out the drivetrain. KD, I have had the bike for @ 10 yrs and last year gave it to wife. I ride 00 Deuce and 03 Ultra CLassic. The vibration is relatively new. By: steven on: 3-14-2007
- At problem speed, have you tried applying front brake pressure? Better, worse or no change? By: Bomber_Bob on: 4-5-2007
