| Details: |
has anyone had the light clutch conversion done on their evo big twin ? i am taking mine in to have the conversion done next week.they do 3 kits .light .very light ,and xtra light. i think the extra light means it feels like the clutch cable has broke.please dont mis understand me i am fairly string but i feel the clutch on these big twins should be lighter, i find it a bit of a drag in heavy traffic . |
Answers:
- You'd be surprised how much easier a clutch pulls when the lever and the cable are kept lubricated.

- good answer knuck, as you yanks say, i aint no wrench, but i have had harleys since 89 and i have serviced them myself inc taking cable off bar end and lubing, but i ride in heavy traffic [no usa type 4 lane roads here] and i still dont like the clutch. i think they now fit hydraulic one,s now. - Replace with a 60's to 70's fourspeed. Heavy duty orange springs, run for a full summer.
When ya put the diaphram clutch back on you will swear it is hydraulic. Just kidding sort of, well maybe.
I put a hydraulic clutch on a friends bike, he loves it. Me I am single and my sex life keeps my arms toned up. By: Mark_Goff on: 5-21-2007
- ha ha ,very funny mark.i do weights and my friends tell me i got a grip like a vice ,but i still like a light clutch lever, any way i will report on the diff the mod makes next week. i tried to send you a pm to ask how you are doing in the face of your bad loss. could not find a link to send you a pm.it will take a while .i have been there twice.respects. - I have an '88 Evo and you have my sympathy. Get the one that is a little lever that goes on the end of the cable that fits inside the transmission cover. That cuts the pull in half and takes the stress of of the cable, etc. Fossil By: harleymanfl on: 6-18-2007
