Answers:

  1. Buy yourself a mechanic's stethoscope. They're not an expensive item. You'll be able to dial in where the noise is really coming from a lot easier. Sometimes noises will travel from other places. Once you have a better idea of where the noise is actually coming from...you can better diagnose your problem. By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 5-30-2007

  2. in the old days we used to put a long wooden handled screwdriver on the engine and stick ya ear on the handle. dont suppose ya can get them these days. By: biggles on: 5-31-2007

  3. had a loose upper motormount, that sounded just like a push rod was knocking. By: Mark_Goff on: 5-31-2007

  4. Yeah, the "good-ol' days"...when you could put a long-handled screwdriver up to your ear...then stick the blade of the screwdriver into the fan because your eyes can't see 90 degrees to the side of your head! By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 5-31-2007

  5. jeez i did not know they had fans on bikes? By: biggles on: 6-1-2007

  8. Did ya change the cam bearing when ya did the cam swap? Did ya use a Torrington bearing? The Ina bearing HD uses are junk and need to be replaced often. Torrington bearings are the best. By: pb68slab on: 6-3-2007
