$12, 500.00 OBO and only 18,000K miles on her, with all the touring stuff on it , but it's a "A" motor. Is the "A" twincam bad?

I'm looking for a slightly used RoadKing...

I've heard that the TCam "A" is not the motor to have, but the TC "B" is good because it's balanced, and the motor company got the kinks out of the "A" by building the "B" motor. What's the straight scoop on that? Thanks for any input> |
Answers:
- Same motor save the counterbalancers. the "B" engine is counterbalanced because it has isolation mounts.
FYI: There is a no "A" motor. The "B" stands for "counterBalanced". By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 6-20-2007
- I put a 160 thousand miles on my 99 BEFORE THE HARLEY SHOP FUCKED IT UP. It was a 88. I put the big bore kit on it, then after my warrenty expired i put the turbo charger on it. I then put another fifty thousand on her. The Harley shop forgot to hook an oil line up and I ran the bitch out of oil within a block. I called the shop and took the bike back they said no damage, bike ran another 1000, miles and the bottom end dropped out.
I say the motors are pretty good, just watch you cam chain tensioners, or replace them with a gear set.
I did two valve jobs on the bike, one was just to put a five seat cut on valve seats to help it breath a little more, I was also bored at the time. By: Mark_Goff on: 6-20-2007
