What's your question? speedo cable broke
Details: bought after market cable and jacket no biggie but i cant figure how to get the dang thang undone from the trans the book said to reach in there and unscew it well im not et my fingers arnt that long and besides that its like a big nut scewed onto thethe trans cant get anything into it other than takin the tins off any tricks of the old timers out there to help an almost old timer. thanks turtell

  1. Depends on where the cable broke off. They usually snap off at either the speedometer or the speedometer drive unit. I think the speedometer drive unit nut is either a 3/4 or a 13/16. What I've done is hit the pawn shop and pick up a couple long open-end wrenches and bend them with a propane torch until they fit behind the frame centerpost.

    If you can't get to the nut that way...pull the compensating sprocket, remove the primary chain and drop the inner primary tin towards the floor. That should give you enough room to get to the speedometer unit nut. By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 6-30-2007
