Make of Bike: HD
Model of Bike FLSTS/I
Year of Bike 2003
Engine Size 88
Other info on Bike Heritage Springer Softail - injected
What's your question? What the hell fits this bike?
Details: I just parked my old shovel because I got this computerized marvel with very low miles at a great price. It runs fine and I really like it, but of course I gotta change some stuff to make it suit me. Unfortunately, any parts I want (seats, pipes, risers, bars, etc.)are listed for everything EXCEPT the FLSTS. And why is the FXSTS different? To concentrate on one item I really must change...has anybody out there put higher bars/risers on an FLSTS? What parts worked for you? Will the 4" risers from an FXSTS fit the FLSTS? I know this sounds kinda lame, but I haven't got a service manual yet. This sure ain't no shovelhead, and I'm afeared to start pulling things apart.

  1. The way I see it, that bike is one of the few from the 'big anniversary' that will go up in value. If it was mine, I'd only change shit that you can still bring back to stock for the future. In other words, if you are thinking about painting the tank, buy a separate tank to paint, keeping the old one so you can bring it back to stock. You might want to change the cam chain over to a gear drive...I've heard that's a problem area, and after my warranty is up, that's the first thing I'm going to change on my '07FLHT. I don't think the company has any plans to build any more springers, and that's what makes your's valuable. So keep the stock parts, IMHO. By: MeatandCheese on: 10-22-2007

  2. Thanks for the input gentlemen...I do plan to keep the stock shit. At first I had all kinds of plans but my brothers already talked me out of any radical alterations. I just stripped off some crap, painted my logo on the fender and now I'm getting used to the look of this bike..and the cadillac-like ride on the highway. I will keep it mild, but right now I've got to raise the bars a bit. No apes like my shovel, but at least an inch or 2 or 3 higher. Tried one set of risers supposedly for springer..the ones with the 44 mag cartridge heads on top...would not fit without alterations so I sent them back. Don't know what else fits. 3. j&p cycles catalog lists a set specifically for your bike. part#5000255 it moves bars 2" up 2"back. possibly may have to change cables By: bigblock691 on: 8-2-2008
