Answers:
- Motor mounts will get soft and spongy over 20 years. I suggest you replace them and adjust the engine alignment according to the instructions in the FSM when you do.
You do have a FSM, right? By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 7-15-2006
- What 47 Knuck says but damn 87 was 20 years ago dammmmnnnn where did it all go. Check wheel bearings and tire balance, as well as shocks By: Mark_Goff on: 7-17-2006
- I've got a '94 FXLR and it was doing the same thing. I had a Carridge Works 21" front wheel that I'd slammed into a curb really hard. I checked the wheel runout and it was 7-8 thou. I got my Insurance to pay for another wheel(a real big hassle) and now it's fine. A buddy runs a shop in town, and he told me you don't want the front wheel to runnout more than 3 thou. You might check your wheel. On mine you could tell it was in the front wheel--under about 40 the bars would do this fast little wiggle when you took your hands off, like with a low tire. Just an idea. (I love my FXLR--I've never ridden any bike that's as nimble as it) By: Meat_&_Cheese on: 7-18-2006
