it has rust in the gas tank is that a major problem?

- ya when it gets into your bowl and then into your jets and then stops the bike from getting gas. By: dirtyundies on: 5-12-2008
- the best thing you can do is drain the tank, flush with soap and water. yes I said soap and water, get a big fist full of old nuts, bolts, washers berrings whatever and drop them in, fill with a bit of water and swoosh them all around turning your tank over to make sure you get the top where most of the rust will be. Empty tank, rinse again fill with water, see if water is rust free, if not doi it againg to water runs clear. Then following the directions on your brand new bottle of tank sealer seal that tank making sure every inch is covered. This done properly should last at least five years, if not longer. Good lucl.
