| What's your question? |
Tired of paying the stealer. What aftermarket oil do you people recommend for engine/transmission ? I have been using the H.D. 20/50 synthetic but hoping I can get better , or just as good oil for cheaper.

- The only way is to do the service yourself, all the good syn oils are expensive, Royal purple, Redline, Mobile, all are costly. The only way to beat the dealer cost is to do the service yourself. By: ZIPPERHEAD on: 8-28-2008
- you know if you change your own oil at three thousand mile incriments synthetic is a waste of money for the average rider. Since the motors are air cooled use a 20-50 motor oil rated for aircraft, or diesel, both are just fine. Automotive oil does not hold up as well to the higher temps of an air cooled motor. Be sure to cahnge your filter every oil change. By: MarkGoff on: 8-29-2008
- I am a big fan of synthetic oil, but if your engine is S&S I wouldn't use it. My builder was telling me the S&S is so tight when new, that it needs some wear to break it in. By: Thongs2U on: 8-31-2008
