The bike is having an oiul consumption problem. I live 425 from Sturgis when I got there I needed a quart of oil. When I left I made it about 300 miles before needing another quart.

- How are your plugs? I imagine they are a bit dark. I would say time for a compression check. It will tell some tales. Either rings or valve guides. time to upgrade your top end. Good luck. By: MarkGoff on: 2-28-2009
- I agree with markgoff, might be a good time to have some fun inside! a compression test and a cylinder leakdown test may be in order.... I have seen some bikes with comparable mileage that were switched to synthetic oil do the same thing....or if the breather "flap" is damaged it will put the oil in your aircleaner(or down the vent anyway) By: hired on: 3-4-2009
- what kind of oil are you using some bikes use more oil with diffrant brands pensoil is one rebuilt 5 engines and used pensoil bike used about 1 guart evey 1 to 2 hunder miles removed top end found nothing wrong wiched oil to bardall all bike used no oil in 2500 hunder mile so try a good motorcycle oil By: limey on: 3-5-2009
