- 2008?? isn't it still under warranty ? if so, keep bringing it back till it's right or replaced under lemon law. They also might miss it as they keep it in a heated shop till repair.have you made any modifications? By: Guest on: 6-5-2009
- i did put new louder mufflers on it but other than that no mods. was told by a harley mechanic that mufflers wouldnt affect it only if i repiped it and put an air cleaner kit on. and yes its still under warranty i wanted to see what you guys had to say so i could tell them hacks at the dealership some things to look for. they dont seem to have a clue. - sorry can't give any info on FI bikes if it were carbed I would tell you to change the low speed jet but all 08s are fuel injected so? By: greybeard77 on: 6-5-2009
- Ok. First of all you changed your pipes. Depending on the size of the pipe 2" pipe has a 1 7/8 I'd. But, most stock bikes require an I'd of 1 5/8" in order to tune properly due to backpressure. Also anytime you change pipes, you must check your jets, slow speed, intermidiate, and idle. Sometimes they have to be adjusted to maintain a proper amount of fuel flow, so that the exhaust can handle the output. Hence, why your bike coughs and sputters. Also, check to make sure your choke is 1/2 way out when you start it. After 5 minutes pull it all the way out. Wait until bike has come to top end operating temperature. Aprox 165' F. Then place your choke all the way in. Bike has sufficiently warmed up. Also, check your throttle cables to make sure they are lubed and adjusted properly, last have the bike put onto a dyno. It will allow the tech to see where adjustments in your EFI need to be.you made need to set your ignition timing to a different setting. Hope this helps. By: Guest on: 6-6-2009

- thanks to all who helped me with this problem i truly appreciate your time. oh and poster #5 go fuck yourself By: roymech427 on: 6-8-2009
- DID YOU GET IT SERVISED & CORRECTED YET??
By: Guest on: 6-9-2009
- First off he said he changed the MUFFLERS and not the entire PIPES....secondly all the EFI model harleys i have owned dont run a manual choke....its all done thru the open/closed loop system controlled by the compter.....you gave him good advice if it was carb and not EFI By: lucifer2005 on: 6-11-2009
- I have an 06 that done the same thing no mater what I done to it. I changed pipes rejetted several times and it never went away. then I changed the ICM and It hasntdone it since. From what I understand the stock advance curve advances to fast. Hope I helped out. By: Guest on: 6-12-2009

- Guests can't use the PM feature. By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 6-13-2009
- PM feature?? By: Guest on: 6-13-2009
- Private Message feature. A PM is a message between 2 members that is hidden from public viewing. Being a "Guest" leaves you with limited access to BNN features. Only takes a few minutes to create an actual membership here and post with a member ID. A membership here requires nothing more than a valid e-mail address to confirm you're interest. - I am poster #10. I put a twin tech programable ignition contol module on my 06 it takes about 10 mins to install. It comes with instuctions on how to set it up. But this fixed my problem. The one I put on has dial settings so you dont have to plug it in to a conputer. Ride on. By: Guest on: 6-14-2009
- I was poster #1, have they fixed it yet?what was found? By: Guest on: 6-24-2009
- replace intake seals as bike warms up every thing expands and seals back up may even try snuging manifold bolts By: Guest on: 6-25-2009
- sorry did't see the seals were replaced they may have egg shaped the intake by forcing the manifold in to place for the air cleaner seen it a few times worth a check By: Guest on: 6-25-2009
- i will be running it in to the dealer i bought it from in mid august i will let you guys know how it goes thanks all for the help By: roymech427 on: 6-25-2009
- first all i can't tell if it's FI or carb. if carb it's not adjusted right. if FI you need a power commander if this has been done then you need to dyno and have peramerters rechecked, it's also possable you got a bad icu or power commander. i HAVE FOund a power commander better suited the harley's icu for pipes By: ecsjr1 on: 6-30-2009
