| What's your question? |
Any experince out there using the engine guard to cool the oil?
|
| Details: |
I have read some articles on using the engine guard to run the oil through for additional cooling. It doesn't look to difficult to do, but does require extra oil. Of course the engine guard will get hot. Has anyone done this, if so, does the bike run cooler? How significant is the risk of getting burned? |

- Yes I've done it on a couple of bikes and it does lower the temp a little. Here in south Texas every little bit helps. I'm about to do it on my '02 Road King. Just make sure you blow out the guard real good after you drill and tap for the fittings. Hope this helps your decision. By: ChopperRay on: 2-5-2010

- Late post, DOH!
An amigo of mine let his pop's ride his bike equipped with an engine guard (crash bar) and he hit a dog, breaking the cheaply made shit. By: capnbill on: 2-27-2010
