Any experience on either modifying the stock head pipes by removing the cat (I think that probably would be a tuning nightmare).. or installing new head pipes without a cat. Maybe V&H or Fuel Moto. I already have Reinhart slip ons, but I'm not getting the sound I would if the cat was gone. |

If you were to change everything, it might be possible to use an earlier type of fuel delivery system, before all this catalytic shit appeared. That would be terribly costly... By: capnbill on: 2-12-2010
- 1st ? - do you have to pass a state inspection ? do you venture into states that do ? A bro just did his 2010,changed the A/c, bought stock mufflers off ebay, then drilled them to desired sound, it runs better& it does sound good now and that's without any tuning changes. be sure to keep all the original stuff if you do change things. - I own a 2002 Electra Glide , I installed a 2 into 1 from a a new Streetglide. I cut the pipe and removed the cat and then took it to a local welder who put it back together for 25.00. I felt a very noticeable difference and it was cheap. My bike runs a Harley race tuner. I am running a sampson wide oval muffler , sounds nice and runs even better than the duals that were on it. good luck By: Guest on: 7-25-2011
