- It's a noise dampener. By: Guest on: 5-13-2011
- Yeah, those pan tops will rattle like hell with out that felt pad. Had a buddy forget to put them in when he did his rebuild, sounded terrible. By: Guest on: 5-13-2011
- As has already been said "they are noise dampeners. Most times they, come loose and fall on top of you're rockers, takes the right adhesive to hold 'em.They're usually used on tin covers, thick aluminum(1/4")tend to damper the rattle due to their construction.Check the swap meets or Randy Smith's old company, for the old finned version.I've ran the same set for decades,customcycleengineering.com By: brokeknee on: 7-18-2011
