What's your question? I have a problem with gas coming out of the breather when i ride it hard,i've tried different types of breathers but still the same. I have a hyper charger breather on it now.
Details: it makes a dam mess on my oil tank. i have vented the excess flow from the heads to the ground not back in the carb. what can i do?

Answers:

  1. Crankcase breathers will tend to vent oil if you run at highspeed, consistently. But there's no way you should be getting gas from the crankcase unless you're leaking it into the cylinders when the bike is parked overnight.

Check your spark plugs and check the petcock to see if the vacuum shutoff is working. By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 12-15-2006

  2. My S&S has an overflow that when I ride hard gas flows out. I think that is why the hose is there. It is normal for an S&S to do this. it drains from the top of the bowl. By: Mark_Goff on: 12-15-2006

  3. No S&S, rather it's a "B" or an "E" should siphon from the overflow tube. You can download S&S's installation and troubleshooting .pdf files directly from their site.

To me, it sounds as though the float might be set too high. By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 12-16-2006

  4. I agree with the 47Knuckledragged dude. When you say "breather" you must be referring to the air filter, not the crankcase breather. Your float might have a pinhole leak, is set too high, or the needle and seat has crap on it or worn out. Either way, it's an easy fix. By: creepinogie on: 12-19-2006
