I need some advice on starting my sporster in the cold. I live in Texas and it is not really that cold (50 deg.), but I am having trouble starting my bike. It wont turn over and I end up wasting the b

- i have had 2 sportys over 18 years, and i had no end of trouble starting in cold untill i bought the sealed [we call it gel batteryhere in uk] no acid it was the harley 1 for new sporty, after that no more probs ,i could leave it weeks and it would fire 1st time ,batt was expensive but lasts years By: biggles on: 1-10-2007
- I was just curious if you ever corrected this problem. I have had two Sportys and both had the problem you mention. Was corrected by placing a star washer on the positive terminal of the battery bolt. Seems to like to back out on its own. By: evilelvis on: 5-13-2007
