Oil flow problems on softail tc88
|
| Details: |
does anyone know if H/D has problems with their oil filters? every once in a while (each year) after a oil change and a few miles down the road, the oil light comes on, and no oil flows. Change the filter and it works again. H/D mechanics never heard of this, has anyone else heard of this? Thanks |
Answers:
- I have not had this problem. I put a little oil in my filter before I spin it on. This is just an old superstition I have. My dad said back in the old days that filters would or could vapor lock and it is what he did. I have no clue if this is valid or not. Just something I do. By: Mark_Goff on: 2-19-2007
- i always do the same, just put some oil in filter before i put it on ,same with cars. plus i smear a finger of oil on rubber seal ring so it wont drag when you spin it on . i have asked over here in uk, no 1 has heard of prob with harley filters so long as you fit the correct 1.
