Answers:
- I have a 2000 Springer. My axle has turned ever since the bike was new. I noticed when I installed oddly shaped axle nut covers and they wouldn't stay in place. I just found some acorn axle covers to match the acorn nuts on the fork and nobody knows they keep turning... unless you know it. And it has never been a problem. So you are probably safe. - as the axel keeps turning it will mar it, you know groove it, hit a big hole and it will snap...have you seen the locking tab on an old clutch hub nut, locks against the nut by bending the tab,and secures on a flat on the shaft. use that principle to make a custom lock, thin washers are available at good hardware stores, cut them and bend them, experiment a little...thats where our heritage comes from...you're a biker By: Guest on: 3-13-2009
