Australia - Hassan "Sam" Ibrahim may be cooling his heels in Goulburn's Supermax jail, on remand over an alleged kidnapping, but lawyers for Holroyd City Council and Sydney Water are dealing with the former Nomads bikie on a very different matter. Ibrahim is the brother of the Kings Cross nightclub boss John Ibrahim and Fadi Ibrahim, who was shot five times while in his Lamborghini outside his Castle Cove home in an assassination attempt earlier this month. Sam is suing the council and the State Government water corporation for almost $1 million after a accident in 2004 in which his motorbike hit a pothole in the road. It is understood that he is seeking damages for pain and suffering, to cover medical expenses and having to pay for help around the house as a result of his injuries. He is also suing for loss of earnings, having been forced to give up a job in construction for which he says he was earning $1500 a week. Ibrahim initially sued only the council in 2005, but his lawyers have since added Sydney Water to the action. Ibrahim was in court last week pleading guilty to charges related to the discovery of illegal weapons in a Parramatta unit during a 2006 police raid, included a walking stick with a concealed sword. Ibrahim's lawyer, Brett Galloway, told the court Ibrahim received the walking stick as a gift after his accident.
