Australia - ~'Rock Machine bikie crashes limo - then assaults police'~
An alleged associate of the Rock Machine bikie gang will face court over allegedly driving a stretched limousine into a car and a shed and then assaulting police.
About 8.50am yesterday police were told the black stretched limousine collided with another car in Pyrmont.
A short time later, a witness told police the limousine entered a gated work site in Pyrmont, where it crashed into a shed before driving off.
Police were given a description of the driver and arrested him at a house in Leichhardt about 11.20am.
Police believe the 33-year-old Alexandria man is an associate of the Rock Machine bikie gang.
The man allegedly became aggressive and assaulted police as they tried to handcuff him.
He ws taken to Newtown Police Station and charged with failing to stop, driving while disqualified, failing to submit to a roadside random breath test, resisting arrest and assaulting police.
He will appear at Newtown Local Court at a later date.
The Rock Machine are a well-known bikie gang in Canada, where they have fought a violent turf war with the Hells Angels.
NSW gang squad officers had confirmed the gang had a presence in Australia, a police spokeswoman said.
But she could not say what their numbers were or how well known the group was.
