UK - MICKLETON is bracing itself for the Bulldog Bash, the motorcycle festival annually held at nearby Long Marston airfield.
Residents hope there will not be a repeat of last year's situation when police closed local roads, thereby hitting trade by preventing customers from reaching businesses.
The 23rd Bulldog Bash will be held on the Warwickshire airfield from Thursday, August 6 until Sunday, August 9.
Thousands of bikers from throughout the world attend the Bulldog Bash, which hit the national headlines in 2007 when Hell's Angel, Gerry Tobin, was shot dead while riding his motorcycle along the M40 after attending the four-day event.
Warwickshire police have held talks with the parish councils of communities surrounding the venue.
Mickleton Parish Council chairman, Martin Gittins, said: "The police closed lots of the side roads last year.
"This inconvenienced a lot of companies.
"A lot of residents were also inconvenienced by all this and felt the police presence was very much over the top."
Coun Gittins added that he does not envisage similar problems this year because he believes the police have taken local objections on board.
Warwickshire Police spokeswoman, said the force had formed a working group with the local councils at Mickleton, Long Marston, Lower Quinton and Clifford Chambers in a bid to resolve any issues.
She said the force was considering issuing residents with passes giving them access to any roads closed this year.
"We're trying to do it with the minimum of inconvenience to the local community," she said.
