THE BIKER NEWS NETWORK
Welcome to our 13th year on the web!
Hard to believe the site started back in 1997, as the "Outsider's 1%er Biker News" hosted on a public server, with a few articles posted everyday for the handful of bikers who visited. Then there was the Biker News Network, bikernews.net in various forms which has now grown into the biker community that is is today! From a handful of faithful visitors (Whom most are still around) to the thousands that now visit every day!

United Kingdom - ~BBC worker sacked after being unmasked as Hell's Angel~

A BBC Wales reporter has been sacked after it emerged he was a member of the leather-clad Hell's Angel biker gang.

Motorbike-loving Steve Jones, 51, used his Hell's Angel codename of Echo to publicly criticise police for their handling of a biker's festival.

Jones, the BBC TV and radio news correspondent for Mid-Wales, was interviewed by unsuspecting colleagues on Radio 4 and 5 to speak up for the notorious motorcycle gang.

But his distinctive voice was recognised by BBC colleagues who launched an inquiry into why one of their staff was acting as a spokesman for the bikers.

Jones was also interviewed on TV wearing a pair of Easy Rider-style sunglasses and a Hell's Angel's badge on his jacket. ....

The "high-ups at the Beeb" want to disclose what they do on the weekends!! Half of them are probably off shagging each other, getting up to all sorts of irregular stuff I shouldn't wonder.

Echo didn't deserve this kind of treatment; he's a motorcycle enthusiast, and what of it?!

How many other members of staff at the BBC around the world are members of some club or other (swingers, etc.)?? How many have opinions on them, public or otherwise? And how many have been treated as shockingly as this?

A fuckin' disgrace ...
