Yonkers, NY - Several black law enforcement organizations and the local chapter of the NAACP today lambasted the Yonkers Police Department after two white officers arrested a black New York City police sergeant in a Feb. 3 incident.
The organizations also said the officers assaulted the sergeant.
Sgt. Kenneth Kissiedu, the black officer, who was off duty at the time of the incident, was arrested in Yonkers by two unnamed 4th Precinct officers. They had been investigating a possible attempted purse snatching in the Main Street and Buena Vista Avenue area at 10:42 p.m.
Kissiedu was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, a misdemeanor. He had no connection to the attempted purse snatching.
