West Virginia - CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Lawyers for the former president of the Pagan's Motorcycle Club and 20 co-defendants charged in a sweeping federal racketeering case targeting the group are due back in court.
What is expected to be a marathon hearing of pretrial defense motions is scheduled for Monday in Charleston federal court. Motion hearings for another 16 defendants have been delayed until April.
Among the motions scheduled for Monday are those of former Pagan's president David "Bart" Barbeito of Myersville, Md. The 50-year-old Barbeito's been held since his arrest Oct. 6.
Barbeito is the lead defendant in the case, which accuses Pagan's members and associates from West Virginia, Maryland, Florida, New Jersey and several other states of crimes including kidnapping and illeg....
