Charleston, W Va. - For more than eight hours on Monday, dozens of attorneys argued scores of motions in the federal racketeering case against members and associates of the Pagans Motorcycle Club.
Defense lawyers tried to get their clients separate trials, asked to have counts against them dismissed and complained that prosecutors hadn't turned over all of the information required by law.
So far, 19 of 55 defendants have entered into plea deals with prosecutors, meaning more than 30 defendants could have charges still pending when the case goes to trial on May 4.
