Answers:

  1. Your best would be to suggest that he buys a factory service manual. Otherwise you'll be the go-between every time he needs information.

I'm also suspect as to why he wants to yank the starter motor. I'll assume it's because of his own diagnosis?

  2. I put a couple of web sites on the message board under your topic, maybe they'll help By: unstable1 on: 4-6-2009

  3. A 1996 ultra should have an 80 cubic inch motor unless someone changed it or reworked the motor. By: Guest on: 4-8-2009

  4. I agree the best bet on this one os definitely the service manual. The starter is relatively straightforward (ONCE YOU GET TO IT). Getting to it involves removing a whole lot of stuff. Ain't hard once you know where you are headed, but there are a LOT of steps. Good luck to him. By: iceaxe on: 4-13-2009
