AZ - KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Harley-Davidson is moving its motorcycle testing from the General Motors facilities in Mesa to Chrysler's desert proving ground in Mohave County.
Spokeswomen for both Chrysler and Harley confirm they've signed a deal that goes into effect next July.
Harley needed a new site because GM is closing the Mesa facility and moving to a new site near Yuma.
Chrysler itself is shuttering its test tracks in Wittmann northwest of Phoenix. It bought the Arizona Proving Ground facility near Yucca from Ford in 2007.
Harley will occupy several buildings at the site. It will use the five-mile oval high-speed test track and 18-acre vehicle dynamics area to test new models of the company's signature motorcycles and its Buell sports motorcycles.
