SD - SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) One of two Hells Angels acquitted in state court of attempted murder for a 2006 shooting at Custer State Park with rival bikers has been indicted on a federal gun violation.
U.S. Attorney Marty Jackley said Chad Wilson is charged with being a nonimmigrant alien in possession of a firearm.
He said it arose in part from the shooting.
Wilson is a Canadian citizen from San Diego and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
After deliberating over three days, jurors on Nov. 18 found Wilson and John Midmore of Valparaiso, Ind., not guilty of trying to murder five people affiliated with the Outlaws Motorcycle Club during the Sturgis motorcycle rally.
Midmore has dual citizenship in Canada and Australia but is a resident alien. He was released on bail that evening.
