Australia - A VICTORIAN police officer has been charged with serious sex offences - years after concerns were first raised about his conduct.
The Office of Police Integrity has launched an investigation into the officer, stationed in country Victoria.
They have raided his police station and home, seizing computers and documents.
The Herald Sun has been told concerns were raised years ago about the member's connection to Blue Light Discos run for young teenagers.
Sources say a number of allegations of sexual misconduct were made but alleged victims chose not to proceed.
A civil court case several years ago led to a succession of allegations, among them claims he had exposed his genitals on the internet.
He remained in his job until recently when he was suspended after being charged with incest. The charges relate to allegations of abuse from the 1980s and 1990s.
The case comes to light as State Parliament prepares to debate legislation aimed at making it easier for force command to get rid of corrupt and incompetent members.
Assistant Commissioner Luke Cornelius, the state's senior anti-corruption officer, last night declined to comment on specifics of the case.
