Australia - TOURISTS booked into the Mantra hotel were surprised to learn they would be spending the next 48 hours with hundreds of bikie gang members.
The Battye family of Adelaide found Bandidos bikies checking in with them yesterday at the Southbank hotel.
Marcus Battye said he knew of the motorcycle group but was not particularly concerned about his fellow guests.
He said the hotel had not told him of any additional security over the weekend.
"I'm sure that the hotel has it all in hand," he said.
More than 200 members of the Bandidos motorcycle club roared into the Mantra serviced apartments as part of their annual national run.
Mantra assistant manager Adam Quigley would not comment on the gang's stay.
"I can't confirm or deny whether they are staying here," Mr Quigley said.
"I can assure you if they are, the hotel has taken every precaution necessary."
Iris Pavoeiro, 27, and Claudia Milton, 25, said they noticed a few of the Bandidos at the hotel.
Ms Pavoeiro said she was not worried about staying in a room next to gang members.
"We're from Sydney so we're used to it," she said.
"As long as they don't harass us we're OK."
Ms Milton said the Mantra's management had not mentioned the gang was staying at the hotel.
"Unless you look at them the wrong way or something like that, and if you keep to yourself you should be all right," she said.
