Had a special request from a long time BNN member and highly respectible 1%er. Some time on or around November 30, 2007, a girl names Carla Anne Beard was murdered in Anna Marie Island, FL.
Carla Ann Beard was found at the end of 50th St. in Holmes Beach just a few blocks north of the Manatee County Public Beach. It had been there for a few days. A $5000 reward has been offered by the Gold Star Club for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible. Contact here

North Carolina - ~Sheriff apologizes; other pallbearers thought it was 'a drug deal gone bad'~

WILMINGTON - Five sheriff's deputies will be disciplined after they used a Taser while serving an arrest warrant on a man at his father's funeral.

Gladwyn Taft Russ III was serving as a pallbearer at the service last Saturday and was loading his father's casket into a hearse when the undercover deputies approached him.

Relatives said two deputies dressed in coats and ties grabbed Russ and kneed him in his back before using a Taser on him. One deputy's gun fell out of its holster.

"Everybody was so scared. We thought it was a drug deal gone bad," said Ronnie Simmons, another pallbearer and Russ' brother-in-law. "We almost dropped the casket."

New Hanover County Sheriff Sid Causey told The Star-News of Wilmington that five of the officers involved would be disciplined, although he wouldn't say what punishment they would face.

"I apologize to anyone that was there," Causey said. "Family, friends, relatives. ... That was a bad decision."

Russ, 42, had failed to surrender after being charged with threatening his ex-wife, who lives in another state. After his father died on Nov. 11, Russ agreed to surrender to authorities after the funeral.

When deputies approached Russ, he "went wild" and spat on the officers, Chief Deputy Ed McMahon said.

Russ was charged with assault on a government official, resisting an officer, disorderly conduct and felony malicious conduct by a prisoner. A call to Russ's home went unanswered Wednesday night and it was not yet known if he had retained an attorney.

The ONLY thing these fucking asshole pigs will get is a week or two off of work with pay. Why the hell all five of them couldn't have waited in the background until the funeral ended. This pisses me off. I have no respect what so ever for any pig. May you all rot in hell.

No respect no class

They could have waited in the background until the service was over before arresting him. But no they had to disrupt things and cause more pain to the mans family. And cops wonder why the general public has for the most part lost all trust and respect for them Hope the family can and does sue the fuckers. Condolences to the family of the deceased.

5 cops

Its just another example of cops doing whatever they want to do to get the job done. Regardless of what it does to people. They don't care about anyone. All they care about is their image and that shows because the Sheriff is going to punish the cops, but only because it became public. Fucking assholes.
