- bleed the brake cylinder By: capnbill on: 4-20-2009
- There is an air bubble in the line somewhere. If u cant get the air out by pumping the lever, get a vacuum pump to move the air bubble. By: Guest on: 4-20-2009
- vacuum pump sounds expensive, i used to take 2 feet of fish tank clear plastic tubing, slide it over the line and suck on it, leave a loop down low in the clear tube so you can see the brake fluid comming and stop before you get a mouthfull, then hook up the line and try bleeding the master cylinder..you may have to do this a couple times, it will work By: Guest on: 4-20-2009
- There's a little trick to tickling the lever to eliminate the air.
Set your ride upright, loosen the screws that hold the master and lever to the handlebars and tilt the master and handlebars so the master cylinder is parallel to the ground. Remove the cover to the master so you can clearly see the fluid. Now, just barely jiggle the brake lever and you'll see tiny bubbles come from the bleedback orofice at the bottom of the master. Keep doing that until you don't get any more bubbles and you should have a airless hydraulic unit. Replace the gasket and cover; with both hands on the clutch and brake lever, reposition the brake lever and torque the screws back down. By: 47Knuckle-Dragger on: 4-21-2009
