Australia - THE boss of the Comanchero bikie gang, Mark Buddle, has been charged with affray over a brawl in Sydney's eastern suburbs in September.

The 28-year-old from Clovelly was extradited to NSW from Queensland after a dramatic arrest on the Gold Coast on the weekend.

Queensland Police swooped on the bikie leader on Hope Island on Sunday and he was remanded by a Queensland magistrate to appear in Central Local Court Wednesday.

Buddle, 28, who has headed the Comanchero for the past two years, sparked a nationwide hunt last month after his gang imploded following a week of internal violence.

Police were called to a hotel on Clovelly Road, Clovelly about 11.15pm on September 30 following reports of an altercation between a number of people at the premises.

As a result of the incident, a 28-year-old man was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital with facial injuries.

Police issued warrants for the arrest of two men, aged 28 and 25, on October 5.

The 25-year-old man presented at Maroubra Police Station on October 14.

Buddle was extradited back to NSW today and subsequently taken to Mascot Police Station, where detectives from the State Crime Command's Gangs Squad and Strike Force Raptor charged him with affray.

Tensions in the Comanchero have arisen following the alleged murder of gang member Faalau Pisu, 23, and the alleged attempted murder of Buddle's cousin, John Devine, 28.

A police strike force, code-named Pindamir, is investigating Mr Pisu's death after he was shot at a wedding in Canley Vale.

Two days later, Mr Devine was shot up to six times on his way to work at a Rhodes construction site. A separate strike force is investigating the attempt on his life, under the code name Dishar.
