ALBANY, NY - Events commemorating the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York City, September 11, 2011, may cause some traffic delays on Sunday, September 11, 2011, the New York State Thruway Authority announced today. Motorists may experience delays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011 on I-87 southbound between Exit 17 (Newburgh), across the Tappan Zee Bridge, and Exit 7A (Saw Mill River Parkway) for a planned motorcycle rally and other traffic destined to New York City. Motorists may wish to seek alternate routes on Sunday. Those traveling in or around the Exit 17 to Exit 7A are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly. For the latest news on traffic conditions along the New York State Thruway system, please go to http://www.thruway.ny.gov or call 1-800-THRUWAY (847-8929).
